Underwater hull inspection services

ARA Marine provides cost-effective and quality underwater inspection to the offshore and marine industry. We are fully compliant to local and international safety and health standards, and our team of professional tenders, divers, dive supervisors, diver medical technicians, and other support personnel are dedicated to safety and getting the job done right.

Our diving teams are approved by various international classification societies (IACS) to conduct these surveys. Our diving teams are strategically located around Australia,  allowing us to mobilize to your location without any delays.

Underwater hull cleaning

A clean hull enhances performance and saves fuel. A build up of marine fouling can increase the drag/friction between the ship’s hull and the water, resulting in an impact on the hydrodynamic performance of the vessel. Build ups and hard/shell fouling cause turbulence, cavitation and further disturbance on sonars and speed logs, can cause malfunction.

ARA Marine provides cost-effective and time-efficient underwater hull inspection and cleaning. Our Class approved diving team conducts cleaning in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Fremantle, Mackay, Darwin, Townsville, Newcastle, and other major ports and adhere to all legal, statutory and regulatory requirements.

Underwater valve plugging

A greywater and sewage discharge system uses storm valves or discharge check valves. These storm valves deteriorate in performance over time. Leaking greywater and sewage system discharge piping is a phenomenon that requires immediate attention to ensure underwater hull integrity and safety of the vessel.

Plugging of underwater discharge pipes is often a requirement when it comes to:

• Checking condition of the existing storm valves byclass
• Replacement of the in-place storm valves
• Leakage repair in the discharge pipe section
• Proper and planned maintenance of storm valves ensures the vessel to fully comply with port, flag, and class requirements, allowing the vessel to sail smoothly safety and without delay.

ARA Marine provides underwater valve plugging services along with underwater inspection and cleaning. As an underwater service specialist, our divers carry out the plugging of the discharge openings, allowing the ship’s crew to replace the valve or carry out the necessary repairs.
